Setting Expectations in Berwyn, PA

Understanding Your Experience at Premier Smiles

Dr. Florin Arhiri

In the first welcoming visit with the patient, we get to know each other. We introduce ourselves and our office, and we try to better understand the patient's needs, get to know the patient, and learn what the most important thing they're looking for in the dental chair.

It's normal to be nervous and afraid. Most patients are nervous and afraid in the dental chair. Through communication and reassurance, we explain to the patient that we take care of every single patient in the highest possible way, with quality care and dental standards. This way, we want them to feel comfortable that they're in the right hands and that they made the right choice in picking us.

Keeping You Comfortable is Key

When somebody comes into the dental office with dental pain, we usually try to provide comfort, the best we can, to minimize that pain for the patient as fast as possible. This way, we can have a proper examination and understand what's causing the patient's pain and what the right treatment option is in that particular situation.

Creating Your Personal Dental Plan

Once you have your first appointment, then a follow-up is made with the patient. A clear dental plan is made if more problems are in the patient's mouth and they need to be resolved. We put the treatment plan in stages. This way, we don't overwhelm the patient and make sure that they follow the treatment step by step to bring their mouth to normal health and function.

We always try to find the best option for the patient by doing video exams and dental x-rays, showing the patient tooth by tooth what the problem might be, such as old restorations failing, cracks in the teeth, or cavities. This way, the patient has a visual of each tooth in their mouth. They understand better, and by explaining the treatment to them, they can move forward with doing the treatment. We also explain to them that the more some of these problems are let go, the more complicated they become. They can cause abscesses and infections, and a tooth can crack completely beyond repair, which means it needs to be extracted and replaced with something else. We try to advise the patient in their best interest to follow up with us and to stay on top of all the potential problems they might have in their mouths.
